Each class will feature a local guest artist explaining a different aspect of the theatre (ex. Performance, Lighting, Sound, Costumes, Set Design, etc). Students will be given the opportunity to explore the technical side of the theatre world- as well as the performance side, and (perhaps) even be given the opportunity to be a part of our summer family show, Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka!
Unlike other theatre camps, it is our goal to focus more on the technical side. One of the days will be allocated to performance
THE IDEA:
Each day will be themed and have a specific project based on the level of students. In no particular order until we can come up with a schedule:
· Lights/Sound
· Costume Design - trip to BTG costume warehouse
· Set Painting/Props
· Performance- directing/acting/music/dance
· Production - Producing, House Management, Box Office, Publicity
· Stage Craft - Set Design/Painting/Construction/Props
· Stage Management, Run crew
Classes taught by industry “professionals”!
