OVERVIEW:
Baldwinsville Theatre Guild is proud to present this ground-breaking musical set on the bare stage of a Broadway theater. Conceived and created in a series of workshops conducted by renowned choreographer Michael Bennet in partnership with Bob Avian, the musical centers on seventeen Broadway dancers auditioning for spots on a chorus line. A CHORUS LINE provides a glimpse into the personalities of the performers and the choreographer, as they describe the events that have shaped their lives and their decisions to become dancers through dialogue taken from those workshops and music by Marvin Hamlisch. The musical opened in 1975 and is still as ground-breaking today as it was then. Veteran Director and Choreographer Shannon Tompkins and Musical Director Colin Keating have assembled an amazing cast with diverse stories of their own to help bring A CHORUS LINE to life on the bare stage of CW Baker High School in Baldwinsville, NY.
